birdcoup.jpg (61408 bytes) B11405 Coro (Unsigned) 'Mr. and Mrs. Bird' -- as pictured in "American Costume Jewelry" by Brunialti and Brunialti. Unmarked, but unmistakably Coro (in my experience, these Coro pieces are sometimes not signed, or are signed on only one pin). The design patent for this pair is dated 1941; the patent drawing shows a chatelaine chain. However, the Brunialti pair do not have a chain, and my pair have no attachments for a chain. Therefore, I believe these two were originally chainless. Each pin measures slightly under 2" across. Condition: Very Good, with very minor enamel chipping. $185
squduo.jpg (59131 bytes) B11481 Coro "Mr. and Mrs. Squirrel" -- featured in "American Costume Jewelry" by Brunialti and Brunialti, this pair of pins is typical of Coro's whimsical pieces of the late 1930s. Each pin sports a pink glass cabochon belly, skillful enameling, and rhinestone accents. Each is approximately 1-3/4" tall, and marked "Coro" on reverse. Condition: Very Good, with minor rhinestone discoloration and enamel chipping. $195
accewiz.jpg (45095 bytes) B11463 Accessocraft "Superstitious "Aloysious" Pin -- so, is this guy lucky or what? He'd better be . . . he's got a 4-leaf clover, a wishbone, a horseshoe, and crossed fingers. This fella dates from 1941 and appears in the new Brunialti and Brunialti book, "A Tribute to America: Costume Jewelry 1935 - 1950." Marked "Pat. Appl'd" and "Accessocraft" on reverse. According to Brunialti, the piece was assigned design patent 127,008 (Quicktime required to view). Goldtone; "C" clasp. Measures 2-1/4" tall. Condition: Very Good, with minor enamel chipping. SOLD
jjdog.jpg (36905 bytes) B11439 J.J. Enameled Scottie Dog Pin -- a wonderful older J.J. (Jonette Jewelry) pin in the shape of a very hairy scottie. He's light blue with a faux pearl eye. Cute as he can be! Measures 2" tall. Condition: Very Good, with very slight enamel wear. SOLD
hawpins.jpg (61408 bytes) B11362 Hawaii Duo -- let's have a luau! Textured goldtone couple; she's dancing in a rhinestone-accented grass skirt, while he plays a silvertone guitar beneath a palm tree. She's 2" tall, he's about 1-1/2". Condition: Very Good, with one small spot of discoloration on the guy pin. $60
bunnyflo.jpg (38170 bytes) B11324 Bunny 'n Flower Pin -- an adorable piece, featuring a bunny bursting "cakelike" from an orange blossom. Goldtone with rhinestone accents. Measures 2" tall. Condition: Good to Very Good, with one noticeable enamel chip. $30
acespin.jpg (39887 bytes) B11447 Basket of Aces Fur Clip -- here's a whole bunch of aces for your next card game! Cute novelty clip, goldtone, with plastic dangling playing cards. The basket has tiny rhinestone accents. Dangles about 1-1/2". Condition: Very Good, with a small amount of goldtone loss. $40
headsset.jpg (50781 bytes) B11399 Pair of Sterling Asian Heads -- substantial pins, heavy for their size, with enameled and rhinestoned features. One of the pins is marked "STER." I have left the age patina on the pieces. Your purchase of this pair also includes (alas) one screwback earring. Each pin is about 1-1/4" tall. Condition: Good, with unevenly aged stones and enamel chipping. $75
smokchic.jpg (38584 bytes) B11071 HAR Smoking Chicken Pin -- HAR did a number of whimsical enameled pieces, either in the 60s or the 70s. This is one of them, a chicken that, you might say, smokes itself. He's wearing what appears to be a sombrero. Measures 1-1/2" tall. Condition: Very Good, with only minor enamel chipping. $30
victimp.jpg (49715 bytes) B11483 "Victim of Fashion" Pin -- lovely ethnic face draped in hat and scarf composed of wood and braid trim. Wooden back with "C" clasp. Measures 2-1/4" high, not including braid drape. Condition: Good, with some fraying of braid and chipped face enamel. SOLD
duckcoro.jpg (37456 bytes) B11487 Coro Enameled Duckling Pin -- a real cutie, dating from the late 1930s. The piece has a pink glass belly and rhinestone accents along the wing. Measures 1-1/8" tall; signed "Coro" in script on reverse. Condition: Very Good, with minor enamel chips and cracking. $70
sherldog.jpg (37664 bytes) B11420 "Sherlock Holmes" Dog Pin -- a most interesting piece, probably dating from the 1940s or earlier. The dog's head is ceramic with overpainted eyes and mouth. A wood and plastic pipe rests in the dog's mouth, and he's wearing a wood and fabric "Sherlock" hat. Measures about 2-1/2" high. Condition: Good, with ceramic crazing, chipped painting, and darkening and wear of fabric. $75
gonkpin.jpg (70661 bytes) B11411 Gonk Pin -- does anyone remember Gonks? They were popular little guys in the mid-1960s; I had one appliqued on a dress. This little fella is enameled goldtone. The reverse reads "(c) Gonks Ltd. T.M. Reg. App. '64, La Rue." I think this pin is of British origin. Condition: Very good, with minor enamel chipping. $18
asianwat.jpg (66669 bytes) B11414 Asian Water Bearer Fur Clip -- an apparently popular theme from the 40s, as several manufacturers produced their own versions. This is an enameled pot metal version, with free-swinging chained buckets. This piece is 2-1/4" tall. Condition: Very Good, with minor enamel chipping and a darkening of the pot metal. $95
greengold.jpg (81233 bytes) B11318 Lady in Ball Gown Pin -- cool 40s chick in a green and goldtone dress. The green rhinestones are replacements, tho' she still has her original pink eyes. 2-3/4" tall. Condition: Good, with loss of face and hand enameling, and some uneven plating. $125
beefunp.jpg (50116 bytes) B11404 Fun Bee Pin -- This appears to belong to the same series as my rabbit fur clip (upper left). Unfoiled pale champagne rhinestone wings, along with a rhinestoned belly. Fabulous oversized painted eye. About 2" tall. Condition: Very Good, with age-faded rhinestones. $110
colorbird.jpg (95484 bytes) B11187 Colorful Enameled Bird Pin -- I have seen this piece stamped "Coro," but this particular piece is not marked. Nicely enameled; all rhinestones appear present. The only problem with the pin is that the pinstem was replaced; it's been shortened and is not as sharp as it could be. Nevertheless, it is serviceable. Price reflects. About 2" across. $30
lovebirds.jpg (94432 bytes) B11252 Delightful "Lovebirds" Pin -- y'know, I'm probably nuts to sell this; it is so cute, and I love bird pins! Take advantage of my temporary insanity and snap up this cute piece, before I change my mind! Goldtone pot metal and enamel; rhinestones and pink/blue mini-cabochons. Note the cute hats on Mr. and Ms. Bird! 2-1/2" across. $75
florclown.jpg (73330 bytes) B11238 Florenza Enameled Clown Pin -- from the Florenza "circus" series comes this delightful clown brooch. He's really more like a jester, as he's mounted on a beribboned stick. Gold-highlighted enameling and small plastic cabs, with an over-all white finish (even the textured back). 2-3/4" long. $75
sadclown.jpg (60345 bytes) B11270 Sad-Faced Clown Pin -- silvertone pin of a sad-sack clown, enameled in red and yellow. Textured back; probably 60s or even much later. 2" tall. $20
cavman.jpg (51136 bytes) B11202 Cavalier Soldier Pin -- I have seen this piece in a slightly better-quality, signed version; however, this unsigned brooch is quite nice and is wonderfully enameled, to boot. (har, har!) Red and clear rhinestones. Enameling appears to be in excellent condition. Pale goldtone back; 2" tall. $50
dogball.jpg (69071 bytes) B11253 Dog 'n Beach Ball Pin -- awww, he's so cute! What a great doggie, chasing a colorfully-enameled beach ball, and sporting a green rhinestone collar. Set in goldtone that shows some wear; likewise, the enamel is a bit chipped. However, this does not detract from the charm of this unusual piece. 3-1/4" across. $68
rabbitface.jpg (48506 bytes) B10925 Rabbit-Faced Pin -- this is a little guy; apparently a vintage knock-off of the better-known Coro bunny (which frequently appeared in duette form). This guy has a simple safety pinback, and sports clear and purple rhinestones, and a touch of purplish-red enamel. 1-3/8" tall. $20
fishboy.jpg (46975 bytes) B11239 Boy and Fish Pin -- this is an unusual piece; a dungaree'd boy has hooked a rather large fish! Enameled goldtone pot metal; the fish sports a plastic "rhinestone." $65
jackjill.jpg (51048 bytes) B11260 Jack 'n Jill Chatelaine Pins -- "Jack fell down and broke his crown and Jill came tumbling after." Jack doesn't look particularly broken, but Jill has definitely tumbled, don't you think? Darkened goldtone pot metal, with enamel. Some loss of enamel, as you can see from the picture. $65
twinbun.jpg (47566 bytes) B11258 Twin Bunny Pins -- a little boy and girl bunny, dressed in enameled children's outfits! What could be cuter? Each bunny has a plastic faux "moonstone" painted face. One bunny's pinback has been soldered back on; it's not a bad job and it looks secure. Each measures 1-1/4" tall. $34
aseanw.jpg (95846 bytes) B11114 BSK Asian Woman Pin -- nicely-textured pin in a not-quite-silvertone color . . . the piece is slightly gold-tinged. AB rhinestone mouth and faux pearl earrings. Marked "(c) BSK" on reverse; probably dates from the 1960s. 1-7/8" tall. $28
coroarcher.jpg (50873 bytes) B11283 Coro Archer Pin -- I don't know if this is supposed to be Robin Hood or some other fictional character. Goldtone piece with rhinestone accents; marked "Coro" with the Pegasus mark on reverse plate. Measures 1-3/4" tall. SOLD
