This is a wonderful 1948 Mother's Day ad, showing a variety of duettes, as well as a model showing how they were worn. Unfortunately, my scanner cut off both sides of the ad. The ad copy at top left says, "a brooch so smart . . . now clips when apart." You'll notice that all duettes have names, as well as matching earrings. Wonder why the earrings are so hard to find? Because they weren't purchased . . . or because they wore out? Note: I sure would like the "Apple Blossom" duette -- especially if it's enameled!
